Beyond Meat to host first-ever meatless food festival to celebrate Earth Day
LOS ANGELES (April 2, 2024) Beyond Meat, the trailblazer of plant-based meat, hopes to elevate taste buds and celebrate Earth Day like never before with its first annual Beyond Meat Earth Day Food Festival. This first-of-its-kind event will feature an array of Los Angeles restaurants to showcase their unique and delectable Beyond Meat and plant-based menu items. The Beyond Meat Earth Day Food Festival is not only a feast for the meat-weary and lovers alike, but an opportunity for festival-goers to experience how sustainability-driven food can be just as satisfying and delicious as traditional meat products. The festival is set to take place in Beverly Hills at the Wallis Annenberg Center for Performing Arts on Sunday, April 21, and it will run from 4-8 p.m.
Beyond Meat is dedicated to expressing its ever-prominent commitment to the environment and leveraging the festival as a learning opportunity that extends past the event itself. Along with taste-testing local plant-based meals, the festival will feature educational sessions led by nutrition and climate-change experts, as well as live cooking demonstrations highlighting Beyond Meat’s 20-minute family-friendly recipes. Attendees will have the rare opportunity to see and taste the versatility of Beyond Meat products while gaining insight into the importance a sustainability-driven diet has on the environment.
“As leaders in plant-based innovation, we are not only thrilled to showcase the deliciousness of plant-based protein, but also ignite a passion and drive for a sustainable diet amongst the Los Angeles community and beyond,” said Ethan Brown, founder, President and CEO of Beyond Meat. “We hope this Earth Day, Beyond Meat can inspire change for a more earth-conscious future one meatless dish at a time.”
From mouth-watering meatless burgers to finger-licking plant-based chicken, attendees can expect to be taken on a culinary adventure. Over 15 restaurants are participating in the festival to bring their delectable meatless dishes to your mouth. Some of the restaurants and recipes you can anticipate include:
- Chronic Tacos: Enjoy the “Beyond Beef Chronic Fries” served with scoops of Beyond Beef along with your choice of toppings.
- Dog Haus: You can order the “Beyond Brat” served on a delicious bun with Beyond Sausage, bratwurst, sauerkraut, caramelized onion and spicy brown mustard; or, if you’re looking for something with a kick, order the “Sooo Veggie”, which is a Hot Italian Beyond Sausage served between a warm bun topped with wild arugula, avocado, tomato, crispy onions and spicy basil aioli.
- Mr. Charlie’s: Widely referred to as the vegan McDonald’s, attendees can try the “Not a Hamburger”, which is its plant-based take on a classic drive-thru burger.
- Veggie Grill: Deemed as Veggie Grill’s third best-selling menu item, the “Steak Fajita Quesadilla” is stuffed with marinated Beyond Steak, melted shredded cheddar and grilled fajita vegetables served with a side of lettuce, salsa and guacamole.
- Mendocino Farms: This classic Los Angeles spot offers a flavorful sandwich with plant-based corned beef from Unreal Deli served with Havarti cheese, apple and celery root slaw, housemade bread & butter pickles, smoky thousand island dressing on a panini-pressed rye. In collaboration with Unreal Deli, “Mrs. Goldfarb’s Unreal Reuben” is one you do not want to miss.
- Beyond Chicken Parmesan Bites: During one of the Beyond Meat cooking demonstrations, you can learn how to make, and try, mini chicken parmesan bites using Beyond Chicken Nuggets.
